Nubo SuiteSwitching from Microsoft 365 to Nubo Suite
Most teams move in stages: contacts and calendar first, then files, then the apps that replace your other subscriptions, and mail last. This guide lists what to export from Microsoft 365, what each Nubo app opens, and what does not move.
What to export from Microsoft 365
Do these first. Keep your old account active until you have checked everything arrived.
- Files in OneDrive or SharePoint. Download the folders you need. Keep Word, Excel and PowerPoint files in their own formats (.docx, .xlsx, .pptx); Nubo opens all three.
- Outlook calendar. Export your calendars as iCalendar (.ics) files and import them in Nubo Calendar.
- Outlook contacts. Microsoft documents a CSV export for contacts. Nubo Contacts imports vCard (.vcf) and the CRM imports CSV, so tell us what you have before you start.
- Mail. Classic Outlook exports mail, contacts and calendar to a .pst file, and new Outlook exports mail only. Nubo cannot read .pst files. Keep your Microsoft mailbox and forward new mail instead.
- Teams chat and recordings. Download any meeting recordings and files you need. Chat history does not move.
Checklist
- List the people, shared mailboxes and domains you use today, and decide which plan you need.
- Open a free Nubo account and try your three most important documents in Write, Sheets and Slides.
- Check any Excel workbook that uses macros: Nubo does not state support for VBA.
- Export and import calendar and contacts for a pilot group first.
- Download your files and upload them to Nubo, keeping folder names.
- Add your domain and point mail to Nubo only when you are ready; until then keep your old mailbox.
- Keep the Microsoft subscription until you have confirmed that you can read your old mail and files elsewhere.
- Cancel the Microsoft plan at the end of its billing period, not before.
What does not move
- Nubo has no mail import tool and no migration tool. The steps here are done by hand, and our team can help you plan them.
- Mail history does not move with a click. Keep the old mailbox active (read only if you like) for as long as you need old messages.
- Chat history, comments and version history in your old tools are not imported.
- Excel macros (VBA) are not stated as supported.
